Paris based Global environmental investors, Aloe Private Equity have honored Midlands’ businessman Paul Finnegan as Director Of the Year 2008. This provides another example of the growing prestige of the green technology sector in the Midlands.
Investors, financiers, entrepreneurs and business leaders from across Europe, Asia and the USA gathered on 4 December 2008 in Mery sur Oise near Paris for the Aloe Annual Conference. Telford based Maxsys Ltd, with its range of carbon reducing Fuel Treatment Systems, have emerged as one of the stars of Aloe’s ethical investment fund.
In naming Paul Finnegan as Director Of the Year, Aloe cited the “tremendous work and dedication” that he and the Maxsys team have demonstrated in turning the fortunes of the previously heavy loss maker into a profitable company with a who’s who of blue chip companies as their customers, and all in a very short time period.
Paul comments: “It is a privilege to receive this award, which is a testament to my employees as much as it is to me. Good business is about good people – and we have got good people at Maxsys.”
Maxsys has successfully tapped into the market for increased fuel efficiency – which not only helps to reduce a company’s carbon footprint, but also cuts costs. Maxsys Fuel Systems are standalone devices that improve combustion in boilers and other heating systems, the fuel savings provided are typically 5%, with a payback period of less than two years.
Paul continues: “In these very difficult times for traditional business sectors, it is pleasing to be part of a green-tech firm that’s doing well and will help with President Elect, Barack Obama’s forecast that, Clean energy is going to be a foundation for rebuilding the world economy,” I also hope this award helps to shine a spotlight on the way that green-tech firms are turning the Midlands into a hotspot for corporate responsibility.”
