Telford based innovator of green technology, Maxsys Ltd, has been certified to ISO 9001:2000 standard.
The ISO 9001 standard recognises consistent quality in the development, manufacture, testing, installation and servicing of Maxsys range of magnetic fuel treatment systems.
Gill Martin, Commercial Administrator of Maxsys, comments: “In an economic downturn, high quality business management naturally becomes even more important. A commitment to ISO 9001 is one of the things that allow businesses to stay competitive during leaner times. Maxsys is thrilled to have reached an internationally agreed high standard of management practices.”
Maxsys has been installing its magnetic fuel treatment technology at industrial sites across a range of sectors for more than 5 years. Its success has only increased since moving to Telford last year. Green technology in the Midlands has become a boon due to the recent drive for energy efficiency in the business community. Maxsys Fuel Systems are “standalone” devices that improve combustion in boilers and other heating systems. They produce typical fuel savings of 5%, while also yielding a reduction in CO2 emissions. Most crucially in these uncertain economic times, the systems normally achieve payback in less than two years.
In working towards ISO accreditation, Gill Martin, liaised closely with the Technology Innovation Centre (TIC) in Birmingham. The TIC is a faculty of Birmingham City University and is a National Centre of Excellence in terms of learning, innovation and technology transfer. The team at TIC supported Maxsys through out the accreditation process, a service which was greatly appreciated.
“TIC has been incredibly helpful and it’s fantastic that the University is taking a strong, proactive approach in terms of nurturing green tech in the Midlands.” says Gill Martin. “As I see it, this strategy will put the region in a strong commercial position with the rapid expansion of the green tech sector over the next few years.”
Robert Portman, TIC Consultant, comments: “Green tech in the Midlands is definitely a growing sector. Organisations across all industries are seeking to reduce their carbon footprint - and it’s great to see local firms like Maxsys providing the innovative green solutions needed.”
